Lange habe ich nichts mehr gehört und Nachrichten zufolge sollten Stefan und Hans sich nach dem G2 gegen eine Besteigung des K2 entschieden haben und bereits seit letzter Woche im Abstieg sein. Andere Besteigungen konnte ich nicht ganz ausschließen und somit hies es einmal abwarten. Doch heute kam ein langersehnter Anruf aus Islamabad von Stefan. Es geht ihm sehr gut und er freut sich schon unheimlich auf zu Hause. Anfang nächster Woche sollten sie bereits wieder in Kärnten sein und dann gibt es erst mal einen wohlverdienten Erholungsurlaub nach dieser alpinistischen Prachtleistung.
Ich kann dazu nur nochmals gratulieren und meinen Hut ziehen. Einen so (fast) reibungslosen Verlauf wünscht sich wohl manch anderer Höhenbergsteiger bei seinen Expeditionen.
2 Achttausender, den G1 und G2, beim ersten mal zu besteigen ist eine tadellose Leistung worauf du absolut stolz sein kannst. Ich bedanke mich für die Aufgabe als Nachrichtenübermittler und bei allen die diese Expediton verfolgt haben.

I got no reports for a long time but latest news told me that Stefan and Hans have descided to not try the k2 and are on their way back to civilisation. I didn’t know if they would try other mountains and so I was just waiting. But then I got a phone call from Stefan from Islamabad today. He feels fine and is happy to be back home soon. At the beginning of the next week he will be back in Carinthia and will make a recreational holiday after this great alpinistic performance.
Congratulation to this performance and I raise my hat to you. Such a process (nearly without problems) is a dream of many high altitude mountaineers for their expeditions. 2 eight-thousanders, G1 and G2, in the first try is a unbelievable performance and you can be proud of this. I say thank you for the job as the “blog-writer” and thanks to all of you who followed the expedition process!
