This is the report of last days till June,15, written by Stefan. Right now they are on their way to Baltoro Glacier / Basecamp. You can check their

geographical location here.

12.06.2011

Stefan started at 7.15am from his hometown Villach and after picking up his rope partner Hans Wenzl in Treichl/Metniz, arrived at Vienna Airport around miday. After

saying goodbye to his parents and enjoying his last „Wienerschnitzel“ for a long time, the boys met the other Austrians participants at 1pm. The check-in flowed smoothly, even with 20kg free allowance. They have leaved Austria toward Dubait at 3.30pm. Stefan was very impressed of the good service and entertainment program of Emirate Airline, maybe because he knew already, that this comfort won’t last forever Finally arrived in Dubai, they met the other guys: Norbert (Germany), Willi and Kilian (Switzerland) and seven trekker from Italy (the swiss trekker are absent).

13.06.2011

They started off to Islamabad. With them nearly everything, except Willis bag, arrived. After a bus ride for another 10hours they arrived in Besham, had dinner and a pleasant but short night.

14.06.2011

Morning rall call at 4.30am. Only the swiss mountain guides overslept, as they said for the first time in their hiking-career. The day went over with breakfast around 10am, lunch at 3pm and dinner at midnight, several pee stops, an engine failure by on of the busses and a picture break for the „killermountain“ Nanga Pabat.

15.06.2011

Arrival in Askole at 4am, after nearly 24h driving. Finally they could catch some sleep from 5.30 to 10pm. Two guys were already sick because of the long bus ride (diarrhea), but should get fit after drinking a lot and taking eloktrolytes. After breakfast the rest went for a shopping tour. Furthermore they wrote postcards- only the Austrian guys about 400! (Stefan „only“ 30) and Stefan could have his first phone call to his beloved girlfriend
